Isla de la juventud
The TREASURE ISLAND was once known as the Parrots Island and was a choice hiding place for pirates such as Sir Francis Drake, John Hawkins and Henry Morgan. This was the inspirations for Robert Louis’ book “Treasure Island”.
Discover cave drawings at Punta del Este, from the indigenous people of the island, and small shore islands to the east are home to turtles, lizards, and pelicans.
The plurality of underwater landscapes, caves, tunnels, and ship wrecks in one of the largest coral reefs of the world’s oceans incite adventure and promise an encounter with rays, barracudas, sharks, moray ells, crustaceans, mollusks, and tropical fish.
Among Cuba’s diving district’s, we have selected two particularly interesting regions for you, Maria la Gorda on the western tip of the country and Isla de Juventud Island on Canarreos-Archipelago. Both districts are recommendable for beginners and experienced divers, due to their great diversity.
