Cienfuegos
The small town Fernandina de Jagua, modern day Cienfuegos originated in 1819 from the former Kaziken territory, in a lonesome/isolated and protected part of a large bay. In 1745 the Spanish colonial authorities had already erected a solid fortress, Castillo de Jagua which remains one of the town’s attractions.
