Province Granma, situated in southeastern
Cuba, is fascinating with the impressive
Sierra Maestra landscape, a mountain range which spans from
Pilón along the coastal street through
Granma Province and Santiago de Cuba. The capital city
Bayamo was founded in 1523 by the colonial masters.
Comandancia de la Plata, Castro’s former mountain headquarters, located in Sierra Maestra National Park can be visited with special permission. Pico Turquino, at 1974m the island’s highest mountain peaks out of
Turquino National Park. The coastal street goes from Pilón to Santiago de Cuba and for diving enthusiasts;

Granma’s landscape is impressive. The high mountain range
Sierra Maestra splits the land mass into two regions. A visit to the
two large Nature Parks, Parque Nacional Turquino and Parque Nacional Desembarco del Granma is a great experience for hiking and nature lovers. In 1999 UNESCO recognized
Desembarco del Granma National Park as a
World Natural Monument.
