Cayo coco
Cayo Coco island and its 22 km of white sand beaches are located in the Jardines del Rey – the “King’s Gardens” archipelago. The 370 km2 large paradise island is a Natural reserve for seabirds. Flamingos are a common sight at the coast, and the rare white Ibis, named “coco” also resides here. Divers, water athletes and families with children come to Cayo Coco solely to enjoy its fine, sandy, white, shallow sloped dream beaches, the quiet turquoise water and its bird covered coral reefs all over the coast. From the island, which is connected to the mainland by a 17 km long levee, one could make daytrips to the neighboring islands, to Morón city, or even to Trinidad on the mainland. Besides the guided tours, the car rental agencies in the hotel allow for individual planning.
