Cayo guillermo
Cayo Guillermo Island is one of the most beautiful beach destinations in Cuba and is located in the center of Jardines del Rey – the “King’s Gardens” – archipelago. The Island is connected to Province Ciego de Avila, which is about 35km away by a dam and it is 123 km away from the namesake provincial capital. The island is relatively small and pretty undisturbed. One of the most beautiful beaches we know of in Cuba, Playa Pilar is located on the west side of the Island. This region, including the adjacent islands Cayo Coco and Cayo Romano, are home to flamingos, pelicans, and numerous water birds.
From the island, one could make daytrips to the neighboring islands, to Morón city, or even to Trinidad on the mainland. Besides the guided tours, the car rental agencies in the hotel allow for individual planning.
