Cayo de la Herradura, at the northern coast of Villa Clara province remains a little known treasure with enticingly lonesome beaches, little infrastructure, and pure nature. These archipelagos are so secluded; they are only accessible with a taxicab or rental car.

Neighboring Remedios town and its tobacco plantations do their part in contributing the country’s cigar production. “Parranda” fest is held annually, celebrated with lots of music, food, and fireworks. Lots of local visitors and some tourists contribute to the vivacious hoopla, which ends at the highpoint on December 24th in a rustling fest.
