The province spans over 15900 km2 of mid-western Cuban archipelagos and has hundreds of kilometers of extraordinarily attractive beaches. The namesake capital city, with the country’s second largest historic city, was founded in 1514 under the name “Santa Maria del Puerto del Príncipe”.
