On Sunday, the 17th of November the pistol shot will mark the start of the International Marathon Marabana in Havana, with participants from all over the world. Time will be taken for the marathon and half marathon, as well as for the distances of 5, 10 and 15 kms.
The route passes through many areas of the city, along the waterfront Malecon overlooking the bay of Havana, old, stately buildings, the old town with its wealth of colonial buildings (modeled after the Capitol in Washington), past monuments like the Capitolio, the Cabana fortress at the harbor entrance, the famous Hotel Nacional, the Revolution Square, the Parque Central - places and spaces, which reflect over 400 years of history and architecture!
A day before the marathon, the internationally recognized project Maracuba takes place: a simultaneous launch of runners and walkers of all ages, in hundreds of communities, remote and mountainous regions to distances over 3000m. Each runner is thus part of a memorable running experience.
Experience the sports competition with international participation, contact with runners in Cuba and the charm of Old Havana.
