Get together with your guide who will give you a run through of the days to follow. During the morning a visit of Old Havana and its famous buildings and architecture with explanations by your guide, a visit of the oldest cigar factory in Havana, the "Real Fabrica de Tabacos Partagás” where you see the whole process of how selected and dried tobacco leaves transform to a handmade, world class cigar. To be followed with a lunch in a cozy restaurant amidst colonial Havana.
During the afternoon meeting in a Smokers Lounge with an expert on tobacco. Explanation of the history of tobacco and cigar manufacturing process including first impressions of a cigar tasting and assortment of Cuban rum. Accommodation at Hotel Conde de Villanueva or similar.
At La Cabaña, the fortress of Havana, overlooking the bay and port which offers a magnificent view of Havana by night you will enjoy dinner. In a small shop at the fortress, the longest hand-rolled cigar of the world is exhibited and Cueto, its producer, is holder of the Guinness Book of records. You will attend the traditional ceremony of the "Cañonazo", led by a march of the guards in traditional costumes and followed by a cannon shot, fired every night at 21:00 h. Then return to the hotel. For the more adventurous there is still enough time to explore the nightlife of Havana.
When returning to Havana, a detour to Soroa will allow for the visit of Cuba’s largest Botanical Orchid garden. On arrival in Havana visit of the "Casa del Tabaco" and lunch at the onsite restaurant El Ranchón, well known for its delicious Cuban cuisine. A stylish, and above all well-stocked, tobacco shop offers a great opportunity to purchase the, in some cases, hard to find brands and their respective formats.
Enjoy sightseeing in Classic Cars of the 50s which will lead up to the Fortress La Cabana, along the promenade of the Malecón waterfront, through the Diplomats Quarter of Miramar, the Yacht harbor Marina Hemingway, through a prestigious district with grand villas and further along the famous Necropolis cemetery back to the hotel.
Evening: A fine dinner will round off this journey beautifully and will give opportunity to reflect the experience and knowledge having gained about the magic of the “Habano” cigar.
