This is a journey which will take you into the
nostalgia and the lively, colorful bustle of Havana's historical Old City and exotic nightlife. UNESCO declared the unique colonial architecture of the Old City a world cultural heritage.
The tour covers
Cuba's tobacco heartland,
the province Pinar del Rio and the enchanting Vinales valley. We will see the
natural reserve Las Terrazas with its tropical fauna and flora.
Hemingways legacy comes back to life when visiting the
fishing village Cojimar and his former home in Cuba, the Finca Vigía. The reconstructed
Taino-Indian village shows how the Cuban ancestors used to live and visiting a
crocodile-breeding farm we will see the other Cuban “natives”. Amongst the monuments and memorials of the city of
Santa Clara, the cult of Ché Guevara lives on.
The
charming Cienfuegos, which lies at the Carribean Coast and the
beautiful town of Trinidad with its old colonial buildings, villas and picturesque allies will enchant you. In the secluded
mountain region Sierra de Escambray you will experience a little adventure. With trucks we will drive to usually impenetrable paths, waterfalls, and ponds in the midst of lush nature. The trip ends in Varadero.
During the summer season this roundtrip commences every sunday and during winter season every sunday and thursday.

Day 3 - VALLEY OF VINALES
After breakfast we’ll head off to the
picturesque Vinales Valley. On the way we’ll see
Pinar del Rio, the capital city of this province where we’ll also visit the
cigar factory Franciso Donatien and experience the metaporphosis of the tabacco leaves into a cigar.
The next stop is at the
Mural de la Prehistoria, a huge wall painting on rock. We’ll also visit the underground river of the cave of the
Cueva del Indio and return by boat back to ground level.
Lunch will be eaten in a restaurant in the Valley of Viñales. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.
Day 4 - CIENFUEGOS - SANTA CLARA
After breakfast we’ll drive to the
nature reserve Las Terrazas. Here you will receive a welcoming cocktail and an introduction to this biospheric reserve. Visit the beautifully situated
village of Las Terrazas, where you’ll get to know its artists. View a former
old coffee plantation in the Canada del Infierno and the sulfureous springs of the Bayate river.
Taste Cuban specialties at lunchtime in a provincial restaurant. After lunch you have time to hike and to explore the region.

Day 7 - REMEDIOS - CAYO LAS BRUJAS
After breakfast our way leads us to Trinidad, the
“colonial treasure” of the island, which
was founded in 1514. UNESCO declared its
unique colonial architecture a world cultural heritage in 1988.
Our walk will take us to the beautifully restored grounds, plazas, buildings, villas of Trinidad, and a museum. Lunch in the old part of the city in a charming local restaurant.
The afternoon gives us time to savor the atmosphere of the Old Town, to purchase souvenirs at the markets, visit museums or listen to the music bands playing in the city.
Dinner and accommodation back at your hotel, situated above the old part of the town. In the evening you have the opportunity to stroll through the allies of the city, dance and drink with the Cuban people, and experience the romanticism of Trinidad.
Day 8 - LAST DAY OF THIS TOUR
After breakfast we’ll head to Havana via
Varadero, well known for its white beaches, smooth sand, and the intensive blue and turquoise colours of the ocean. If you would like to extend your holidays in Varadero or Havana you are welcome to take our free ride to your hotel.
Day 1 - HAVANA
Arrival at the airport. You will be awaited there and brought to your hotel.
Check-in and dinner at a comfortable hotel in the center of Havana.
The evening is free giving you the chance to take a stroll and enjoy Havana's nightlife.
Day 2 -HAVANA
After breakfast you’ll see the
old part of the city which was built in 1515. Havana's wealth of fascinating architecture will bewitch you and you'll be shown many interesting historical places. The UNESCO declared this part of town a world heritage historical landmark. It offers the
most interesting buildings from the Colonial Era. We will visit the book market at the
Plaza de Armas where you can make some bargains, antique books or old coins can be bought. You’ll need negotiating skills! Lunch will be eaten in a restaurant in the Old Town. By bus we will go on a
sightseeing tour through the modern part of Havnana. Then we’ll visit a
rum factory. After having some good rum ;-) we’ll go to the
fisher village Cojimar, which was the setting for Hemingway’s famous book “The Old Man and the Sea”. Here stands
Hemingway’s domicile, the Finca Vigía in San Francisco de Paula. The finca still has the original utensils and furnishing and allows a glance into the priviacy of the deceased author.
Accomodation and dinner at hotel. Optionally you can go the Cabaret Tropicana which is known for its exotic performances and blaze of colours.
Day 5 - TOPES DE COLLANTES-TRINIDAD-SANCTI SPIRITUS
After breakfast we’ll take you on a historical trip to
Santa Clara, known for its memorials to Ché Guevara. On the way to Santa Clara we’ll stop in
Guamá,
which is a reconstructed
Taino-Indian village and situated amid the country’s largest lagoon. While crossing the lagoon with a boat you can see the gorgeos landscape of this everglade region. It is the home of many birds. Our next stop is a
crocodile breeding farm. The crocodiles are kept safe from poachers here, thus the population can be ensured. After these wonderful new impressions, lunch will be served in a restuarant.
We will continue our journey to Santa Clara, also known as the city of Ché Guevara. During the revolution in 1958 he took over the city and set the seal on Batista’s regime.
Many sights are witnesses to Ché Guevara’s veneration, who died 1967 in Bolivia. The
mausoleum is the place where in 1997 Ché Guevara's remains were interred celebratory. Our final destination today is
Cienfuegos, “the Pearl of the South”.
Accommodation and dinner in the Hotel Jagua with panoramic view over the city and the bay of Cienfuegos.
Day 6 - FLORENCIA - PROVINCIA CIEGO DE AVILA
Breakfast.
Cienfuegos was founded 1819 by French settlers at the Carribean coast. It captivates the visitors laying at the big bay of Jagua and the restaurated, historical city center, which we’ll see in the forenoon. We will drive through the
mountain region Escambray to the viewpoint Loma Ventana, from where you’ll have a breathtaking view over the entire region. An
adventorous truck ride will take us to the
hiking paths “Sentinelas del Rio Melodioso”. In the
midst of lush nature you will see the birds of this region, its waterfalls, and ponds. In the springs and ponds you can take a refreshing swim. At the “Casa Gallega” we wil enjoy a delicous meal. Dinner and accommodation back at your hotel.
